Once you send in your appeal to appeal@vu.edu.pk it is actually seen by the rector, read and then processed for 2 options. 1 where student admits and apologizes is passed on to UMC for records and application of fine. While the case where a student pleads not guilty, the matter is then reviewed against the actual events of the paper for which unfair means has been declared. At time it takes much longer. It took me over 3 months to get a response that too by keeping a constant follow up with rector. UMC was quite hesitant and stringent in their stand. Fortunately, i was able to prove them wrong and the decision was reversed. There is absolutely no other go except for waiting a response from UMC. You will actually hear only from UMC now. Though you can send a reminder request to appeal@vu.edu.pk explaining that you are still waiting for a decision to be made in your case, but honestly speaking it will take more time than it actually should.
